I served as a 154th Korean Navy Recruiter and worked for the Overseas Development Corporation in Korea.\u00a0 In 1981, I came to the United States for a graduate program at Coppin State University in Baltimore.<\/p>\n I received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from Eastern Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, Virginia.<\/p>\n I received the Korean Presidential Award in recognition of 35 years of service in the Washington-Baltimore region connecting the Korean American community with South Korea and American society and enriching the lives of 2nd generation Korean Americans. Working as a local journalist, I am focused on promoting harmony between the Korean American and African American community.<\/p>\n I served as Commissioner of the City of Baltimore Anti-Racism Committee and advisor to the Baltimore Police Department, a founding member of the Korea Lifelong Education Association and the 30th president of the Korean Association of Maryland (2008-2010). I also served as the representative of Inpass (International New Praise Support Association) and as the 6th President of the Korean American Foundation-Greater Washington.<\/p>\n I retired on September 30, 2017 from the administrative department of the 8th Circuit Court in Maryland.
