John Yoo

John Yoo was appointed the Chief Executive Officer of the Virginia University of Integrative Medicine (VUIM) in April 2019. He is responsible for setting financial policy and for overseeing the operational and financial affairs of the University including both the academic institution and the academic teaching clinic. In addition, key operational and administrative areas such as strategic initiatives, finance, financial aid, human resources, management and budget, regulatory compliance, and information technology services report to him. John has served on the University’s Board of Trustees since June 2010.

Previously, John led Business Development and Product Management for Arca Solutions Inc., an American software development consultancy headquartered in Northern Virginia. In addition to professional services such as custom application development and technology operations services, the firm provides software-as-a-service solutions for website and mobile application development utilized by organizations located across the globe. During his time with Arca, John was able to spearhead the organization’s growth by re-engineering the objectives of the global sales and marketing divisions, implementing new marketing processes and sales distribution channels, as well as pioneering the conceptualization, strategy, and launch of a new, mobile-first product division servicing the $60+ billion print publishing industry. His efforts ultimately served to accelerate the company’s transition into a mobile technology focused product and services firm. Prior to Arca Solutions, John spent time in San Francisco, CA serving in various management and product testing capacities with the K-9 focused subsidiary of Kaplan Inc. The division was responsible for creating innovative software enabling an integrated online / offline tutoring model that featured computer adaptive online instruction, real time reporting, and automated teacher lesson plans.

John recently served on the Executive Committee for the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (CCAOM). He currently serves as a Commissioner for the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM).

John received his MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia.
